Elizabeth Freeman Center, Inc Counselor/Advocate in North Adams, Massachusetts
Elizabeth Freeman Center (EFC) is looking for a compassionate and committed counselor/advocate to join our Pittsfield office. This role supports survivors of domestic and sexual violence, including work with children and youth. Key Responsibilities: - Provide support and counseling to survivors of domestic and sexual violence - Help survivors with safety planning, emergency needs, housing, benefits, and more - Offer individual and group counseling - Connect clients to other EFC programs and community services - Provide children exposed to domestic or sexual assault violence with support, advocacy, and assistance - Participate in outreach, education, and community events - Keep accurate computer records and maintain confidentiality - Support EFC\'s mission through all work Skills and Qualifications: - Bachelor or Associate Degree (may be waived for relevant, comparable level of work or life experience) - Experience working with adults and children affected by trauma, domestic violence, or related issues is a plus - Commitment to serving diverse communities (e.g. LGBTQ+, rural, immigrants, people with disabilities) - Spanish/English bilingual skills are a strong plus - Strong communication, teamwork, and basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Google - Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion - Degree preferred, but relevant experience will be considered - Must pass background check, have a valid MA license, and access to reliable transportation Schedule: 40 hours per week. TThe salary range for this position is \$47,840/year to \$52,000/year commensurate with experience. EFC pays 85% of health insurance premiums and contributes to an FSA.
