Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Analyst to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. This role involves overseeing accounting processes, financial reporting, and analysis to support informed decision-making within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger accounting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis, with a focus on improving efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Manage accounting processes for assigned legal entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
• Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger transactions to maintain accurate financial records.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend evaluation, and revenue assessments.
• Develop and deliver timely and accurate reports on business performance, comparing historical, budgeted, and forecasted results.
• Collaborate with management to provide insights that support strategic decision-making.
• Evaluate existing accounting procedures and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities to guide financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies in all accounting practices.
• Monitor financial data for discrepancies and implement corrective measures as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and related documentation.
Requirements
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in corporate accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency in general ledger systems and journal entry preparation.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis principles.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and identify trends, variances, and key insights.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
• Effective communication skills for presenting findings to management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
