Summary This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command. Responsibilities As a PROGRAM SUPPORT SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serve as the Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC) Reserve and Guard Forces Program Specialist responsible for conducting actions in Service-controlled systems to request activation and mobilization of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps Reservists to include National Guardsmen assigned to the JECC (USTRANSCOM). Perform all administrative tasks through Active & Reserve Headquarters and other Major Service Commands to maximize the use of its voluntary and involuntary authorities, for increasing the Gaining Force Command (GFC) capacity to perform contingency and wartime missions. Advise the Command Group, subordinate commanders, and respective staffs on the Department of War (DoW) authorities and polices promulgated to voluntarily activate or involuntarily mobilize assigned Reservists and Guardsmen critical for achieving the full wartime missions. Apply Marine Corps specific policies for joining, activating, mobilizing, and administration for JECC Marine Corps IMAs, as instructed by JECC Marine Corps IMA OpSponsor, with consultation through the Reserve Marine Detachment Senior Leader and JECC subordinate commands representatives. Perform actions, in consultation with the J89 Reserve Forces Manager to forecast, budget, and task active-duty requirements through the military personnel appropriation (MPA) system as the Functional Account Manday Manager (FAMM) to maximize the use of Air Force Reservists and Guardsmen, under voluntary and involuntary authorities, to fill critical joint deployable capabilities and increase joint force capacity for JECC to perform its contingency and wartime missions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Drafting official orders, overseeing drill schedules, maintaining personnel and medical readiness, facilitating training activities, and managing electronic records using various administrative systems. Applying analytical skills to collect, organize, and assess information, identifying potential risks and recommending effective solutions. Applying financial management principles to develop and execute spend plans, ensuring proper allocation and obligation of resources. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
