Valmet, Inc. seeks a Proposal Engineer in Norcross, GA.
Respond to inquiries from the organization's sales force or customers about the technical aspects of the organization's products and services. Receive and review Requests for Quotations (RFQs) for the organizations products and services. Prepare cost calculations and provide a cost-effective solution for each customers specific need utilizing products and solutions from our portfolio.
Prepare technical and commercial quotations to customers to meet their technical requirements and specific needs. Check and compare of sales order acknowledgments as relative to the original quote and the actual job cost at the time of sales order closing. Attend customer meetings, as required, in support of the sales team to provide technical and commercial support related to the application. Provide technical advice to the sales team and customers to develop, sell, and successfully implement product or service solutions that will meet the customers needs. Prepare quotations to customers to meet their technical requirements and expectations, commercial conditions from sales, and delivery times from the factory. Respond to enquiries from the organization's sales force or customers about the technical aspects of the organization's products and services. Support sales and the distribution channel and manage complaints and issues affecting customer orders, liaising where necessary with sales, service, finance and operations in an effort to solve order issues. Follow systems specifications and formalized representations of solutions (for example, flow charts, models) to configure systems that meet customer needs. Liaise with product management to ensure that products and services specifications are modified, configured, and installed according to customer needs. Must be available to work at clients sites up to 12% within the U.S., and 3% to Canada.
Requires a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, plus 3 years of work experience in job offered, or in a mechanical, industrial, or automation engineering-related occupation.
Position also requires the following:
2 years of experience with SalesForce including: data management, reporting and analytics, user training and support.
2 years of experience with Pulp and Paper Automation Solutions.
3 years of experience with M-files information and document management platform.
3 years of experience with industrial Networks (specification and sizing) including: Profibus, DeviceNet, Profinet, Fieldbus, ModBus TCP/RTU, ControlNet, Ethernet IP, and Serial protocols.
3 years of experience with multi-disciplinary teamwork.
Up to 15% domestic and international travel required. Must be available to work at clients sites up to 12% within the U.S., and 3% to Canada.
