Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior SAP Technical Consultant to join our team. This pivotal role will support our current SAP ECC 6.0 environment and play a key part in our upcoming SAP S/4HANA migration program. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, a passion for SAP modernization, and the ambition to grow into a technical leadership position.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert technical support for our SAP ECC 6.0 production environment, including custom development, troubleshooting, integrations, and performance optimization.
Develop, maintain, and enhance SAP ECC 6.0 technical objects including Reports, Interfaces, Conversion programs, and Enhancements (RICEE).
Hands-on experience in SAP Security administration. This must include proficiency in role maintenance (PFCG), user administration (SU01), and a strong understanding of SAP authorization concepts across platforms like S/4HANA or ECC.
Lead and perform custom code analysis to identify optimization opportunities and ensure compatibility with S/4HANA.
Manage and execute remediation of simplification items identified during S/4HANA pre-conversion assessments, collaborating closely with functional and business teams to resolve technical gaps.
Conduct S/4HANA readiness assessments, evaluating technical debt, code compliance, and overall system preparedness for migration.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
Lead and execute custom code remediation, technical design, and modernization efforts as part of our ECC to S/4HANA migration initiative.
Develop and enhance applications using modern SAP technologies, including ABAP for HANA, CDS views, and SAP Fiori/UI5.
Design, implement, and support API-based integrations with both SAP and non-SAP systems, following industry best practices.
Stay current with SAP industry trends and best practices to ensure our landscape remains robust, secure, and innovative.
Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and the development of technical standards.
Potential to evolve into a Technical Lead role, mentoring junior consultants and driving technical strategy.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree or SAP certification is a plus.
8+ years of hands-on SAP technical experience, with a strong focus on SAP ECC 6.0 and ABAP development.
Comprehensive experience with SAP ECC 6.0 Reports, Interfaces, Conversion programs, Enhancements, and other technical components (RICEE).
Proven experience in supporting SAP ECC production environments, including troubleshooting and custom enhancements.
Demonstrated expertise in planning and executing SAP S/4HANA migration projects, particularly in custom code analysis, simplification item remediation, and modernization.
Strong skills in ABAP for HANA, CDS views, and SAP Fiori/UI5 application development.
Experience with API-based integrations (REST, OData, SOAP) and SAP integration technologies.
In-depth understanding of SAP ECC version support and related best practices.
Hands-on experience in SAP Security administration. This must include proficiency in role maintenance (PFCG), user administration (SU01), and a strong understanding of SAP authorization concepts across platforms like S/4HANA or ECC.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and cloud-based SAP services.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development methodologies.
Previous experience in a technical leadership or mentorship role.
