WSP USA Principal Engineer – Geotechnical in Noida, India
As a Principal Engineer – Geotech & Tunnels, you will be part of the AU GCC team in WSP India and operate out of our Bengaluru office. The ideal candidate for this critical role would be from a Civil Engineering/Geology background with a postgraduation in Geotechnical Engineering/Rock Mechanics. Studies relating to the reduction in embodied carbon in design would be highly regarded.
You will be supporting multi-disciplinary, geographically-spread teams working on projects principally in Australia and across the APAC region. You will be tasked to work independently and lead across a geotechnical team for delivery of major projects. Expertise in geotechnical engineering design & execution works across multi disciplinary projects with proficiency in Geotechnical design for soft soils, liquefaction, settlement, dredging, and reclamation for Ports, Maritime, Road, and Rail projects.

Lead multidisciplinary geotechnical design reviews and integrate innovative solutions.
Manage the technical delivery and oversee multiple high-profile geotechnical projects.
Provide expert guidance on contract administration and project execution.
Help deliver high-quality multidisciplinary projects for an array of local and international clients
Integrate technical inputs from project peers to deliver the project outcome.
Deliver reports, documents, and proposals incorporating senior review
Develop proposals and provide technical support for the team in market engagement activities
Liaise and work closely with Sector leadership and peer groups across India and APAC regions; Act as a brand ambassador of WSP in India across geographies
Guide, mentor and coach junior team members in technical domains and ensure professional growth of individuals within the team
Ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, tolerances, safety factors and project brief
Ensure all productions are completed on schedule or in a timely manner and within budget
Design and implement Quality Assurance protocols; Participate in and support SHEQ within their scope of duties; Promote Diversity and Inclusion
Independently undertake investigations, analysis and consulting services on assigned projects and be accountable for end to end project delivery including designs, calculations, reports and drawings/documentation to a high standard
Carry out complex geotechnical engineering designs for dredging, and reclamation of Ports, Maritime, Road, and Rail projects.
DESIRED SKILLS
Strong technical expertise in preparing design reports, setting design base/criteria, etc.
Ability to develop technical specifications of works, contract & quality management,.
Ability of develop method statements, drawings and provision of inputs to BOQ and cost estimation.
Coordination among Interdisiplinary teams such as Geology, Survey & Geospatial Engineering, Structures, MEP etc.
Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders effectively.
Can work collaboratively with different stakeholders and across cross-cultural teams; Draw upon technical expertise of others when required, to deliver the project outcome
Act as go-to expert in both theoretical and software domains
Strong technical expertise in geotechnical engineering associated with civil infrastructure projects and demonstrable understanding of the underlying principles.
SOFTWARE SKILLS
Expertise in GeoStudio suite, RocScience suite, SLIDE, Wallap, L Pile, Geo5, Plaxis and Cliq; MS Office suites including Power BI, understanding statistical analysis preferred.
Minimum: Post Graduate Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Rock Mechanics; PhDs are welcome.
Membership of professional organisations and chartered status preferred.
Post qualification Professional Experience. minimum 12 years.
