Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the installation, configuration, management, and maintenance of Oracle databases for client engagements. They ensure the databases are functioning optimally, secure, and available to meet the needs of the client's data storage and retrieval requirements.

  • Database Setup: Install, configure, and manage Oracle databases. This involves setting up and configuring database instances, creating database structures, and managing database options including Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure

  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune database performance using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager.

  • Security Management: Implement access controls, security policies, compliance checks, and audits.

  • Backup & Recovery: Design and execute backup strategies, ensure data integrity and business continuity.

  • Maintenance & Patching: Apply patches, upgrades, and manage storage and database growth.

  • Troubleshooting: Resolve database issues, crashes, SQL errors, and collaborate with developers for fixes.

  • Design Support: Assist in schema design, query optimization, and best practices for development teams.

  • Documentation & Training: Maintain SOPs, diagrams, and provide knowledge sharing to teams.

  • Migration & Modernization: Lead end-to-end database migration across on-prem and cloud environments.

  • Shift Flexibility: Work in shifts, including weekends/holidays as per business needs.

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle database concepts, architecture, and functionality.

  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, with experience in performance tuning and backup/recovery methodologies.

  • Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and capacity to work under pressure.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration and technical support.

  • Preferred certifications: Oracle Core DBA, Oracle Infrastructure, and Cloud & Autonomous Database.
