IBM Technical Application Manager in No City, Newfoundland

Your role and responsibilities

The PeopleSoft Payroll Technical Application Manager leads the technical management, maintenance, and enhancement of a large-scale PeopleSoft-based Payroll solution. This role demands deep expertise in Oracle/PeopleSoft HCM applications combined with strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills to guide a cross-functional team. The position is critical to ensuring system stability, compliance, and continuous improvement while driving technical excellence across the platform.

Required technical and professional expertise

*Must reside in Canada, and be eligible for security clearance (minimum: Reliability Clearance).

*Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience with PeopleSoft HCM Applications, including hands-on knowledge of Payroll, General Ledger, Time and Labor and related modules.

*Must have Technical or functional leadership experience, preferably within AMS environments.

*Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

*Candidate should have experience managing and supporting escalation calls.

*Coordinate and support application changes, patches, migrations, and maintenance activities.

*Collaborate closely with functional analysts, business stakeholders, and architects to resolve escalations and ensure timely issue resolution.

*Serve as a primary point of contact for application incidents, ensuring clear communication and proactive risk management.

*Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

*Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences.

*Effective leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred technical and professional experience

*Experience with Canadian payroll implementations.

*Proven experience in several completed software development life cycles.

*Project Management experience.

*Bilingual - Speaks French & English
