Job description
The FP&A Senior Analyst – Manufacturing will be responsible for financial planning, standard costing, variance analysis, and cost optimization initiatives across manufacturing operations. The role requires a strong analytical mindset and close collaboration with plant and operations teams to drive efficiency and margin improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Standard Costing & Variance Analysis
• Develop, maintain, and update standard costs for materials, labor, and overheads
• Perform detailed variance analysis (material price & usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, yield, scrap, volume)
• Identify root causes of variances and work with plant, procurement, and operations teams
• Prepare actionable variance reports with recommendations
Manufacturing FP&A & Cost Control
• Support annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range plans for manufacturing.
• Monitor manufacturing KPIs such as cost per unit, capacity utilization, and absorption.
• Analyze fixed vs variable costs and identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Support capex and process improvement business cases.
Cost Optimization & Business Partnering
• Act as finance partner to plant, production, engineering, and supply chain teams.
• Drive cost optimization initiatives including scrap reduction, yield improvement, and productivity.
• Support make vs buy, sourcing, and profitability analysis.
Management Reporting & Systems
• Prepare monthly manufacturing performance reports for management
• Analyze COGS, margins, and working capital trends
• Ensure data integrity in ERP and costing systems
• Support audits and internal controls
Candidate skills & requirements
Key Skills & Competencies:
• Strong experience in standard costing and manufacturing variance analysis
• Deep understanding of BOMs, routings, and overhead allocation
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / NetSuite)
• Strong analytical and communication skills
Educational Qualifications:
• CMA preferred, MBA Finance with strong background in FP&A and manufacturing costing..
• Bachelor's degree in commerce, Finance, Accounting, or Engineering
