NJ Employer Fencing maintenance laborer in Nichols, New York

The Fencing/Maintenance Laborer is responsible for the following duties during the spring, summer, and fall months: Monitoring pasture health, soil moisture, and forage growth to ensure sustainable livestock nutrition during our growing season. Implementing rotational grazing systems to optimize forage use and soil regeneration. Maintaining fencing, water systems, and facilitating livestock movement across multiple paddocks during our growing season. Collaborating with farm owners to maintain animal health and welfare standards. Keeping detailed records of grazing schedules, pasture conditions, and livestock performance during our growing season. Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies. Herd livestock to pastures for grazing. Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as the rate of weight gain. Workers must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance. Field temperatures range from 10 to 100 degrees (F)with possible wet morning conditions. Upon suspicion, the employer may conduct random drug tests post-hire, post-accident, or upon suspicion.
