About the role The Maintenance Assistant Planner will be a dedicated individual who will plan, schedule and coordinate corrective and preventative maintenance activities and will assist in determining job priorities. The Assistant Planner will also ensure that CMMS data files are completed and current. In addition, this position will assist with stores control and obtaining quotes and ordering parts for outages. They will work closely with the purchasing agent to ensure parts and materials are available for work orders and outages. They will help identify, analyze and review equipment maintenance problems and assist in educating operations, facility personnel or vendors/contractors in maintenance management and outage planning. Job Responsibilities The duties of the Maintenance Assistant Planner include, but are not limited to: * Communication with plant management and supervision for next day work plan. * Provide work order and Preventive Maintenance sheets to appropriate supervisors. * Upkeep/Maintain Preventative Maintenance system * Develop/Maintain Weekly work schedules * Ensure that all jobs are completed timely and communicated to plant management/personnel * Work with supervision on inputting work orders properly and as necessary * May be asked to supervise contractors and hourly workers * Contact vendors and contractors for quotes on outage and contractor work. * Communication with plant management and supervision for next day work plan. * Provide work order and Preventive Maintenance sheets to appropriate supervisors. * Upkeep/Maintain Preventative Maintenance system * Develop/Maintain Weekly work schedules * Ensure that all jobs are completed timely and communicated to plant management/personnel * Work with supervision on inputting work orders properly and as necessary * May be asked to supervise contractors and hourly workers * Contact vendors and contractors for quotes on outage and contractor work.Work closely with purchasing agent to ensure parts and materials are available for work orders and outages. Position Requirements:A successful candidate must have experience with maintenance practices in a power plant environment. The person must be proficient in CMMS, MS Project, MS Word and MS Excel software.Strong communication skills Other RequirementsThis job requires weeks of night shift work during facility outages and/or scheduled major project work. Will be required to be available for scheduled on-call responsibilities.The person will have good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Should be able to lift 40 pounds. Solid PC skills with a proficiency in PeopleSoft/ALM CMMS System is a must. High School Diploma required. In addition to salary, this roleis eligible for benefits.
