Description
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a finance team in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. This opportunity is well suited for someone with experience in accounts payable and general accounting who can manage invoice activity with accuracy and maintain reliable payment operations. The role offers the chance to support essential financial processes in a fast-paced environment while contributing to day-to-day accounting efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Review, code, and enter vendor invoices accurately to support timely processing and proper expense allocation.
• Handle payment activities, including ACH transactions and check disbursements, while following established financial controls.
• Verify invoice details against supporting documentation and resolve discrepancies with internal teams or vendors as needed.
• Maintain organized accounts payable records and ensure documentation is complete for audit and reporting purposes.
• Assist with routine accounting tasks related to reconciliations, tracking outstanding payments, and monitoring account balances.
• Coordinate scheduled check runs and electronic payments to meet vendor terms and internal deadlines.
• Support the broader accounting function by helping maintain accurate financial data and consistent transaction processing.
Requirements
• Experience in accounts payable and/or general accounting within a detail-focused business environment.
• Working knowledge of invoice coding, account coding, and payment processing procedures.
• Familiarity with ACH payments, check runs, and standard accounts payable workflows.
• Ability to review financial documents carefully and enter data with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines effectively.
• Comfortable communicating with vendors and internal stakeholders to address payment-related questions or issues.
