Maintains accounting document files, including daily work and accounts receivable and payable. Keys daily worksheets to the general ledger system. Assists accounting personnel as requested. Works under general supervision.Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:Ensure all customer invoices are approved and/or generated & distributed in a timely mannerPosts customer invoices with the correct quantities and prices to customer accountReview accounts receivable (AR) aging and statements following up on outstanding balancesEnsure accounts payable invoices are generated and recorded in a timely mannerEnsure proper payment of accounts payable (AP) via check, ACH or wire transferReconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepanciesPreparation of monthly and annual reportsSales tax processing, reporting and maintenance of exemption certificatesIssues and records all transactions in the ERP systemFamiliar with the Chart of AccountsCompletes special projects as assigned by SupervisorIn addition to the essential functions and duties listed above, all positions are also responsible for:Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work-related tasks in a manner that follows all Company policies and procedures.Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments. The Company retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.Physical Activities: This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. RequirementsExperience:Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience in a similar and progressive position preferred.Education:Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent work experienceSpecialized Knowledge and Skills:Microsoft productsStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively with internal departments and vendorsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple deadlinesAbility to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, routine reports and correspondence.Ensure compliance with company internal controls and accounting policiesPay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on experienceThorlabs values its diverse environment and is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
