Robotic Systems EngineerOverview
We are seeking a highly skilled Robotic Systems Engineer to support the maintenance, upgrade, and configuration management of complex robotic systems in a research and development environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring system traceability, reliability, and compliance across R&D and clinical activities within a highly regulated industry.
The ideal candidate brings deep hands‑on experience with electromechanical systems, excels at disciplined troubleshooting, and can lead system builds, testing, and process improvements while collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain, upgrade, and support robotic systems for R&D development under formal design control processes
Perform system configuration management to ensure accurate traceability across R&D and clinical activities
Lead hands‑on, structured system‑level troubleshooting, collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams
Author and maintain engineering documentation related to process improvements and system changes
Develop test methods and protocols, execute testing, analyze results, and generate reports
Release test results and documentation through Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
Support system builds, including inventory management, procurement coordination, and materials tracking
Identify and propose improvements to system reliability, robustness, and process efficiency
Lead or support detailed planning activities such as Bills of Materials (BOMs), procurement strategies, and future build planning
Apply industry best practices to the development and support of complex electromechanical systems
Required Qualifications
7–10+ years of experience in a complex electromechanical system R&D environment
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
Experience working in highly regulated industries, such as medical devices or aerospace
Proven, hands‑on experience with the assembly, integration, and testing of electromechanical systems
Strong problem‑solving ability, with experience breaking complex systems into manageable components
Demonstrated success collaborating across multi‑disciplinary engineering teams
Experience with technical leadership and task ownership
Project management experience, including task estimation, scheduling, and work breakdown structures
Knowledge of industry best practices for complex system development
Experience creating production‑level and support documentation, including:
Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Assembly drawings
Maintenance and support instructions
Proficiency developing and executing test methods and validation protocols
Excellent documentation and technical communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred / Additional Qualifications
Experience using or modifying MATLAB, Simulink, or LabVIEW
Background in fixture qualification, process validation, or system validation
Experience supporting design transfer or New Product Introduction (NPI)
CAD proficiency, with SolidWorks strongly preferred
Working knowledge of:
Design for Manufacturability / Assembly (DFM/A)
Six Sigma methodologies
Statistical tolerance analysis
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and ECO workflows
Work Environment
This is a full‑time, onsite role in a dynamic R&D environment focused on robotic and electromechanical systems. You will work five days per week with cutting‑edge technologies and hardware, collaborating closely with engineers across multiple disciplines. The role emphasizes hands‑on system interaction, technical rigor, and continuous improvement within a structured, design‑controlled setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
