Job Description

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of Community Access, Bureau of Eligibility Determinations is seeking anAdministrative Support Assistant 1to join our team!

Are you efficient, detail-oriented, and excited about helping people? The Iowa Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) is looking for an Eligibility Determinations Administrative Support Assistant to provide essential clerical and customer service support in our Jasper County office Monday – Friday from 8 am – 4:30 pm. This role is perfect for someone who keeps things running smoothly, enjoys working with others and making a difference in their community. This is an in-office position.

What You’ll Do

  • Handle important documents: scanning, indexing, uploading, and distributing mail and correspondence.

  • Provide friendly, professional assistance to customers and staff—both in person and over the phone.

  • Enter and update information in a variety of computer systems.

  • Stay informed on policies and procedures through training and meetings.

  • Support team members as a backup when needed.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and navigating Windows.
