Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling electro-mechanical products and systems using hand and power tools, following detailed prints, diagrams, and procedures. You will perform mechanical and electrical assembly, including chassis builds, box builds, and point-to-point wiring, while working with PC boards and wiring to support a variety of automated equipment and complex instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electro-mechanical assembly of products, including chassis builds and box builds, according to engineering prints, diagrams, and written procedures.

  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to assemble mechanical and electrical components.

  • Execute point-to-point wiring, ensuring accurate routing, termination, and secure connections.

  • Perform crimping operations on wires and connectors in line with specified standards.

  • Work with PC boards and circuit boards as part of the assembly process.

  • Label wires clearly and accurately to support traceability and ease of troubleshooting.

  • Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and assembly instructions to complete work correctly.

  • Inspect assembled units for quality, completeness, and conformance to specifications.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following established safety and quality procedures.

  • Collaborate with team members and support continuous improvement in assembly processes.

Essential Skills

  • Proven mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for assembly tasks.

  • Ability to follow prints, diagrams, schematics, and written procedures accurately.

  • Electro-mechanical assembly (e/m) experience, including working with both mechanical and electrical components.

  • Demonstrated experience building chassis and box builds.

  • Strong point-to-point wiring skills (must have).

  • Crimping experience with wires and connectors (must have).

  • Experience working with PC boards and circuit boards.

  • Ability to perform wiring and assembly tasks with attention to detail and quality.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in box wiring and panel-style assemblies.

  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting wiring schematics.

  • Experience labeling wires and organizing harnesses for ease of installation and service.

  • Experience in electrical-mechanical assembly environments supporting automated equipment or complex instruments.

  • Comfort working with a variety of mechanical and electrical components across different product types.

Work Environment

You will work in a production environment focused on packaging turnkey electronic and electro-mechanical controls and systems for automated equipment and complex instruments. The facility supports a variety of industries, including medical devices, optics, printed circuit boards, and mechanical and electrical design. Daily work involves using standard assembly tools and equipment, handling mechanical and electrical components, and working at assembly benches or stations. The environment emphasizes quality, precision, and adherence to established procedures while fostering teamwork and open communication.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newburyport, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
