It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!

Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a highly capable Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering organization working across our COBOL tooling, compilers, runtime environments, and Enterprise application replatforming technologies. As a senior engineer, you will take ownership of complex areas of the product, contribute to architectural decision-making, and mentor mid-level engineers while still driving hands-on technical execution.

This role sits at the heart of our mission to modernize long-established, mission‑critical enterprise applications and to deliver stable, high-performance infrastructure relied on by global enterprises.

What You’ll Do

Technical Ownership

  • Lead the design and implementation of key components across our COBOL development ecosystem and mainframe application replatforming stack.

  • Take end-to-end ownership of complex features, including decomposition, estimation, design documentation, and production-quality implementation.

  • Contribute to architectural discussions, propose improvements, and influence long-term technical direction.

Engineering Excellence

  • Write clean, high-quality, maintainable code with strong test coverage.

  • Debug and resolve challenging issues involving performance, concurrency, runtime behavior, compiler flows, or cross-platform compatibility.

  • Improve engineering efficiency by refining build pipelines, automation, test frameworks, and development tooling.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Partner with product management to refine requirements and align technical design with customer needs.

  • Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and release engineering to deliver predictable, high-quality releases.

  • Support escalations or complex customer scenarios by deep-diving into runtime or language-level issues as needed.

Mentorship & Leadership

  • Provide informal mentorship and technical guidance to more junior team members.

  • Help establish and uphold engineering best practices across code quality, testing, and design patterns.

  • Participate in and sometimes lead design reviews, code reviews, and technical spikes.
