Tectonic Engineering & Surveying Consultants, PC Lab Technician (Materials Testing) in Newburgh, New York
Tectonic is currently seeking a Lab Technician to join our team in Newburgh, NY!
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in construction materials testing to learn in a hands-on technical environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Setting up, calibrating, and operating laboratory equipment and instruments required to perform concrete, soils, asphalt, and/or other related construction materials testing; Collection, setup, testing, and disposal of construction materials in accordance with industry standards and techniques; Reviewing and understanding testing requirements in accordance with the applicable code, approved plans, and specifications; Processing relevant reports regarding testing and samples of construction materials; Communicating with supervisors, colleagues, and other individuals as needed; All other related duties in order to assist with the effective functioning of the lab; may perform field assignments on occasion as needed. QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma required; prior laboratory or construction materials testing experience preferred; Ability to acquire relevant ACI certifications within a reasonable time period; Ability to complete OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health Training within a reasonable time period; Basic understanding or the ability to learn relevant testing and inspection processes, procedures, and codes. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in testing and documentation. Effective oral and written communication skills;
