Digital Manufacturing Transformation Lead - Technical Innovation Location(s): Granville, OH, US, 43023-1200 Toledo, OH, US, 43659-0001 Function: Research and Development Audience: Experienced Professional Work Arrangement: Hybrid Requisition ID: 67851 PURPOSE OF THE JOB Within the Digital Manufacturing Transformation (DMT) team, the role of the DMT Lead - Technical Innovation will be responsible to identify and clarify unmet manufacturing needs, and design structured work processes to address all aspects of conceptual design. This includes risk assessment, finalize system requirements and source data, professional services and equipment procurement, application engineering, system engineering/manufacturing, installation engineering, installation/construction, commissioning/startup and consolidating related technical documents toward effective technology transfer/hand-off. This role will also lead proof-of-concept (PoC) work and execute related pilot implementation to demonstrate proof of value (PoV) on the shop floor and once validated, scale innovations across plants while ensuring secure, reliable operations and measurable business outcomes. Reports to: Sr. R&D Leader Span of Control: Individual contributor JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Knowing Our Businesses and their Strategies Build relationships within the Global Information Services (GIS) organization, cross-functionally, and with key stakeholders; ensure effective contact to remain aligned with functional objectives. Understand the strategic direction of the company's businesses and execute functional strategies to support and enhance business results; be knowledgeable of the project work that supports this direction and implications for the business. Understands the relationships with stakeholders and understands what it takes to ensure their success. Knows what best-in-class organizations do and obtain outside-in insights to understand and then apply to positively impact Owens Corning. Build transparent partnerships across GIS, Businesses, CoE, S&T and operations; keep status, priorities, and outcomes visible. Work closely to recognize analogous workstreams elsewhere in the organization. Leverage business partnerships to prioritize workstreams related to PoCs or pilots within the Digital Manufacturing Transformation portfolio Partnership with technical integration and security teams; leverage external expertise to build out sustainable solutions. GIS Architecture Review Board (ARB) and Project Review Board (PRB) for awareness and approval of architected solutions. Contemplate existing standards and governance when required. Executing Strategy Discover & Frame Unmet Needs Engage manufacturing leadership, Center of Excellence (CoE) subject-matter-experts, engineers, maintenance and operators, plus Science and Technology (S&T) product and process platform owners, to identify opportunities and unmet needs; translate them into concise problem statements with measurable acceptance criteria. Build business cases for proposed solutions that quantify expected financial value and define success metrics. Inform strategy to execute PoC or pilots that are prioritized in the Digital Manufacturing Transformation portfolio. Design Work Process and Roadmap Define end-to-end innovation work processes-from discovery and PoC through pilot execution-aligned to Business, Capital Delivery, S&T and GIS standards. Collaborate closely with key stakeholders and teams to collect requirements, define well-formed acceptance criteria, and develop the corresponding manufacturing
