Overview of Responsibilities:

The PCS Leader will be PCS Focal Point (PCSFP) for assigned home site. The PCS focal point guides the site’s technical and operations staff in the application of Process Control Planning (PCP) concepts to foster a culture of continual improvement under the 6 Sigma methodology. The PCSFP assures that PCP becomes an integral part of the site’s approach to quality by maintaining the site’s Process Control System (PCS) procedure and assuring it is followed by working site quality leader. This is achieved through rigorous use of PCS review tools such as C&E, FMEA, and Control Charting through a cycle of learning in critical Process Modules. In addition, the PCS Leader will develop and implement the Advance Process Control Strategy for the CMP business through training and coaching of each sites engineering staff on Advance Process Control and Big Data Analytical techniques

Tactical Work Expectations:

  • Maintain and revise the Business & Site PCS Procedure

  • Ensure compliance with PCS Procedure and assure consistent methods across the site (direct auditing and working with site Quality team)

  • Ensure with Quality Leader the routine PCS reviews, and actively participate to help drive culture:

  • Routine SPC / control chart reviews

  • Periodic PCS element reviews (C&E, FMEA, MSA, Limits, OCAPs)

  • Schedule and facilitate periodic PCS reviews such as;

  • Periodic cross-site data review

  • Routine leadership reviews for area PCS health (“directors review”)

  • Routine reporting of PCS health metrics to site quality and leadership and PCS network

  • Assist in Customer Audits , Presentations, and Special Requests related to Process Control

  • Conduct SPC and Data Analytics training for the site and related field teams (Sales/Field service engineers)

  • Lead the site’s Basic SPC Training for Operators and train new Engineers (production, R&D, account team) in PCS Concepts

  • Actively coach site personnel on 6-sigma, SPC and data analytical practices as the Subject Matter Expert on MSA/GRR, DOE, process change criteria, equipment matching, etc.

Strategic Leadership Expectations:

  • Develop APC training and implement for CMP engineers

  • Develop and implement strategy to assist engineers in identifying appropriate applications for use APC, feed forward and feedback of data for variation reduction, process improvement, etc.

  • Assist engineers in the systematic analysis of all process data to find relationships and correlations

  • Work with engineers to identify data collection and measurement system needs to better understand and utilize APC opportunities, help to drive strategy to exploit opportunities

  • Drive matching opportunities by highlighted data to stakeholder and raising awareness in within site equipment matching, metrology matching and site-to-site matching

  • Working with Quality Leader and functional leaders, ensure the PCS process is used effectively as part of product and process development and transfer and as part of raw material management impacting site product and processes

  • Periodically assess PCS strategy and validate with business and functional leaders to update and improve strategy and approach within the operation

  • Act as steward for Dow’s product information

  • Network with other EM Sites for mutual PCS Learning

  • Influence implementation of Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP’s) based on PCP principles such as C&E, FMEA

Minimum requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 10 years relevant experience

  • Hands-on experience with SPC tools and advanced data analytical methods

  • Demonstrated understanding of advanced analytical techniques applicable to Semiconductor manufacturing and raw materials

  • Demonstrated experience in managing and improving issues involving quality and process consistency

  • Proven track record of meeting goals and timelines

  • Experience leading projects using multiple engineering principles (mechanical, chemical, etc)

  • Demonstrated ability to make good engineering judgments independently

  • Demonstrated communication skill experience with all levels of organization and across cultures

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrated knowledge of using solid database fundamentals in structure and data mining

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Statistics and Data Analysis

  • CMP specific knowledge on products and end use performance

  • 6-sigma Black Belt project management certification

  • Experience with SAS-JMP and CamLine-SPaCe

  • Hands on experience with chemical / physical material analysis and characterization

  • Experience in external (customer or supplier) communication: ensuring both companies are aligned on the same goals and understandings
