About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Test Technician / Quality Control Specialist to support inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and pneumatic products. In this role, you’ll work in a job‑shop style environment handling multiple product types while expanding your technical knowledge and contributing to on‑time project completion.
This position is ideal for a detail‑oriented technician who excels in diagnostics, documentation, and hands‑on testing.
Key Responsibilities
Perform visual inspections to verify compliance with customer and internal specifications
Conduct functional testing using electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic test fixtures
Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, meters, and test equipment
Document inspection findings, generate redlines , and communicate corrective actions
Create rework instructions and collaborate with appropriate teams
Manage shifting priorities and complete assignments in a timely manner
Maintain tool organization and a clean work area
Perform additional inspection, testing, or assembly tasks as assigned
Required Skills & Experience
1–2+ years of assembly experience; 3–5 years as a Test Technician preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent hand/eye coordination
Ability to read Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, schematics, and test instructions
Experience with pneumatic testing, electrical testing, troubleshooting, and C of C documentation
Proficiency with test instruments and power tools
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-product environment
Effective communication skills, including collaboration with engineers
Strong computer skills, including Excel and ERP systems
High School Diploma or GED required
Preferred Qualifications
2-year technical degree or equivalent technical electrical experience
2+ years electrical testing experience with test instruments
Mechanical assembly and wiring experience
Ability to interpret electrical/electronic blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
Experience in data entry, organization, and technical reporting
High-voltage experience (up to 240V)
Familiarity with ANSI, ISO 9001, and ISO standards
Experience in industries such as SMC, LAM, AMAT, BD Biosciences
Experience with CDA testing, QC, inspection processes
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Occasional standing, walking, sitting, climbing, bending, kneeling, or crawling
Ability to lift/move up to 20 lbs
Requires close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Exposure to typical shop environment conditions; minimal noise level

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
