Element Materials Technology Test Project Manager in Newark, California
Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Test Project Manager . The position is a direct hands-on test support role for Environmental and Mechanical Dynamics and will also include working alongside the Project Management team for scheduling and technical liaison to assigned clients. The Test Project Manager has daily responsibility to technically supervise testing operations and give clear technical guidance as necessary across a wide range of the laboratory's testing capabilities.

Salary: $80-120K/year
Responsibilities
Provide onsite project leadership and test execution
Plan, schedule, organize and perform a range of environmental and mechanical dynamics tests
Maintain transparent communications with customers to build strong relationships and foster trust
Interpret specifications/standards to ensure correct application to testing
Review and develop procedures for testing and/or sample preparation
Proactively manages risk and advises customers on preferred test practices
Balances customer schedule expectations with internal resources to achieve deliverables
Prepare and lead customer meetings and presentations, ensuring communication of challenges, bottlenecks and potential risks to Customer Service
Determine the needs of your customers, and implement procedures to ensure that they receive premium customer service and increased customer satisfaction
Provides specific guidance on testing complexities
Equipment setup and program changes
Liaise with customers, other departments, Test Engineers, and Test Technicians
Attend meetings where technical requirements are discussed
Assist in test equipment setup to meet industry standards and/or customer requirements. Equipment setup may involve physical setups, custom fixture design and creation, as well as control program modifications
Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives including 5S and Operational Excellence
Skills / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering/similar discipline or commensurate with experience and education
Understanding of engineering qualification projects
Significant experience of physical environmental testing/specifications relating to:
Vibration
Shock
Temperature and humidity
Altitude
Salt spray (fog)
HALT
Ingress protection
Airborne contamination
Computer literacy, including MS Office applications experience
Demonstrates the ability to work efficiently and be flexible under pressure
A personable, professional individual with a passion for engineering
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to develop relationships to all levels of the business and with customers
Ability to plan, organize and manage work within the defined area of responsibility
Ability to apply logical reasoning and thinking analytically
Analytical problem-solving skills
Ability to support the training of others to a high technical standard
Familiarity with national and international testing standards
