Brix and Partners LLC Tax Associate International Inbound Tax in NEW YORK, New York
Prepare and review complex U.S. federal and international tax returns under the supervision of certifi ed public accountant, including Forms 1040NR, 1120-F, 5471, 8865, 3520/3520-A, and 8621 for foreign individuals and entities. Conduct in-depth international tax research and analysis using primary and secondary sources including the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, tax treaties, and IRS guidance to support technical positions. Assist in advertising foreign clients on U.S. tax compliance and planning, including withholding obligations, voluntary disclosures, pre-immigration planning, and inbound investment structuring. Research and analyze complex international tax concepts such as GILTI, Subpart F, PFIC rules, effectively connected income (ECI), and foreign tax credit limitations. Assist partners in providing strategic tax planning for foreign ownership of U.S. real estate, securities, partnerships, and business operations, while minimizing U.S. tax exposure. Analyze treaty benefi ts and residency tie-breaker rules for individuals and entities in cross-border situations. Assist clients with FBAR fi lings and ensure compliance with reporting obligations for foreign fi nancial accounts and assets. Draft technical memoranda and documentation supporting tax return positions, planning strategies, and audit defense. Stay current on international tax developments, legislative changes, and regulatory updates impacting inbound tax matters. Leverage advanced tax software and research tools (e.g., CCH Axcess, Bloomberg Tax, Checkpoint) for efficient compliance, analysis, and client engagement management. Minimum Requirements:At least a Bachelors degree in Taxation or Accounting with 12 months experience in the same occupation or an occupation involving US international tax compliance.
