Citigroup Swap Trader, Funding and Resource Management, Vice President in New York, New York
The Funding Resource Management (FRM )team is responsible for the refinancing of all assets positions within the Equity business line, as well as the management of the main internal and external financial constraints (Capital, liquidity, balance sheet). The NAM FRM team is looking for a senior trader to lead our funding strategy execution in collaboration with other FRM officers. The book covers a wide range of instruments (swaps, repo, collateral swap, IRS, FX swaps).
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee a >150b$ trading book: respect of risk limit, trades execution and negotiations, pnl monitoring.
Maintain and extend Citi franchise with external counterparts (triparty, agent lenders, other banks) and clients (Prime Brokerage franchise client, asset managers, Pensions).
Ensure the respect of all liquidity constraints (LCR, NSFR, Stress Test, Tenor) and daily funding requirements.
Coordinate with other FRM officers to adjust funding strategy to respect capital constraints (GSIB, RWA).
Monitor and minimize the carry cost of the book under all constraints
Actively participate to Transfer Pricing improvement and methodology redesign.
In partnership with Product team, lead the IT improvement needed for the platform to run efficiently.
Coordinate with the Treasury department on funding requirement and execution.
Improve and extend communication with other trading desks on their day-to-day activity to control the volatility of funding needs.
Ensure frequent communication on capacity need, trading level and market structure.
Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure
Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics
Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation.
Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to you
Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
5+ years in an equity financing role or similar FRM function
Strong knowledge of funding swap market management, risk control and execution
Understanding of standard regulatory constraint and liquidity framework of a bank
Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders (Finance, Treasury, Trading, Tech, Sales, etc.)
Trading skills on SFTs a plus
Proficiency in coding skills for data analysis and reporting a plus (e.g., VBA, SQL, Python)
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Master's degree in a finance field (e.g., Finance, Math, Statistics, etc).
