Robert Half Staff Accountant in New York, New York
Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant with expertise in revenue recognition to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This position is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, has a strong background in accounting, and experience working within SaaS or technology-driven organizations. Based in New York, New York, you will play a critical role in supporting financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our revenue processes.
Responsibilities:
• Manage billing processes and ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
• Oversee revenue recognition operations to maintain compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger as part of the month-end close process.
• Collaborate with the revenue operations team to identify and resolve discrepancies or escalate issues when necessary.
• Generate and analyze financial reports to support decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
• Utilize NetSuite and Salesforce to streamline accounting workflows and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with reconciling accounts, ensuring data integrity, and supporting audits.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting processes and policies. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a focus on revenue recognition.
• Proficiency in using NetSuite and Salesforce platforms.
• Strong knowledge of SaaS industry practices and revenue recognition standards.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and analyze complex spreadsheets.
• Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close processes and prepare journal entries.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively within a team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
