ConEdison Sr Engineer - CENG, Substation Equipment Engineering in New York, New York
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of eight (8) years of engineering work experience. Experience in the development and application of technical principles regarding large power transformers (i.e. rating, application, specification, engineering, operation, and maintenance), preferred.
Master's Degree with a Bachelor degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of six (6) years of engineering work experience. Experience in the development and application of technical principles regarding large power transformers (i.e. rating, application, specification, engineering, operation, and maintenance), preferred.
Relevant Work Experience
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, required.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally, required.
Knowledgeable in basic engineering design and principles, required.
Working knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards associated with the equipment engineering, required.
Ability to write specifications and standards and coordinate engineering projects and assignments, preferred.
Candidates with a focus in electrical engineering or power systems are strongly preferred.

Physical Demands
Ability to respond to system emergencies
Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold
Ability to work in adverse conditions that include, noise, confined spaces, and high elevations
Ability to climb ladders and stairs
Ability to work on elevated platforms, scaffolds, catwalks, roofs, and/or other equipment
Ability to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces)
Ability to work with, and in, the vicinity of high voltage and/or other high-energy systems
Stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs for the duration of the workday
Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
Additional Physical Demands
The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work extended hours during system emergencies or scheduled equipment outages, ensuring seamless operations and team support.
