MPG Operations LLC Software Engineer in NEW YORK, New York
The Software Engineer (multiple openings) at MPG Operations LLC in New York, NY will develop proprietary applications to enhance and automate trading/research processes. Build Business Continuity Protocols (BCP) and processes to allow the Firm to continue business operations in the event that systems or critical infrastructure fails. Update and improve core software applications as their usage scales. Build applications to access publicly available data and parse it into the Firms proprietary databases. Stream real-time data from internal APIs and drive connection with external vendor APIs and endpoints. Monitor data loading tools and the applications that connect to them. This position may involve work at unanticipated Millennium locations in the United States. Quarterly travel to various Millennium worksites in the US and the UK required. Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year. Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field, and 3 years in a professional KDB or q full software development life cycle, or related, occupation in the financial or investment industry. Must include 3 years of experience with each of the following: 1) Python and Java for application development and integration; 2) direct support for end-users and troubleshooting and debugging software systems in production environments; 3) design and implement predictive analytics systems; 4) design core infrastructure for ETL pipelines; 5) design metadata tracking systems and APIs for users to query data provenance; 6) build pre- and post-trade systems with data normalization; 7) build scalable OMS platforms and APIs; 8) build streaming analytics systems with KDB+ and tick, including creation and implementation of feed handlers and real-time calculation engines; 9) build libraries to connect to and consume EQ and FI index data from multiple external vendors and exchanges via WebSockets, REST APIs and custom vendor APIs; and 10) design BCP processes for critical infrastructure.
