Neuberger Berman Senior Technical Project Manager - Private Markets Technology in New York, New York
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a strategic transformation program within our Private Markets division. This role sits at the intersection of technology, operations, and investment management, driving the modernization of platforms, processes, and data capabilities across Private Markets business. You will be responsible for managing complex, cross-functional workstreams involving front-to-back operating model redesign, system migrations, and data architecture upgrades. The ideal candidate brings deep familiarity with Private Markets including hands-on experience delivering software and vendor implementations.
Key Responsibilities
Program Delivery & Governance
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of workstreams within the Private Markets Transformation program, managing scope, timelines, budgets, and dependencies.
Establish and maintain robust program governance including steering committees, RAID logs, status reporting, and escalation frameworks.
Manage program budgets, resource forecasts, and vendor relationships, ensuring delivery within approved financial parameters.
Produce executive-level reporting and dashboards for senior leadership, the program board, and key stakeholders across the firm.
Act as the primary liaison between technology, operations, investment teams, compliance, and external vendors across the transformation lifecycle.
Develop and execute change management and communication plans to ensure smooth adoption of new systems, processes, and operating models.
Build strong relationships with front-office investment professionals to ensure technological solutions meet the needs of deal teams and portfolio managers.
Oversee end-to-end software and vendor implementation lifecycles — from requirements and vendor selection through configuration, UAT, and go-live — across portfolio management
Coordinate the design and delivery of front-to-back operating model changes
Required Qualifications
12+ years of project/program management experience, with at least 4 years focused on financial services transformation initiatives with direct experience in software or vendor implementation projects.
Demonstrated experience delivering technology and operations change programs within private markets, alternative investments, or asset management.
Proven track record managing full-cycle software or vendor platform implementations within the financial industry
Understanding of the Private Markets investment lifecycle as well as technology platforms
Expertise in structured project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) with the ability to tailor approaches to different workstream needs.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills with experience engaging C-suite, investment professionals, operations, and technology teams.
Strong commercial awareness including experience managing program budgets, vendor contracts, and third-party delivery teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Technology, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP or Agile (SAFe, Scrum Master) certification.
Experience with data transformation initiatives including data warehouse modernization,
Knowledge of emerging trends in private markets operations such as tokenization, digital assets, and AI-driven portfolio analytics, automation and workflow optimization in private markets operations.
Location: New York City; hybrid with a minimum of two days per week in office.

Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $130,000-$180,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, retirement, life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
