JOB PURPOSE/OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. Director of Strategic Portfolio Partnerships.
The Target Pay Range for this position is $213,600-$267,000 annually. At SDx/Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Director Strategic Portfolio Partnerships will play a critical role in shaping and executing the global supplier strategy for SDx/Antech’s in-house diagnostics portfolio. This role will focus on building and shaping strategic partnerships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) ensuring supply continuity, operational excellence, commercial growth, and innovation alignment. As a key liaison between internal business functions and external suppliers, the Sr Director Strategic Portfolio Partnerships will drive supplier performance, commercial negotiations, quality improvements, and long-term partnership strategies including supplier segmentation, demand alignment, and joint business planning to support SDx/Antech’s growth in the veterinary diagnostics market.
Strategic Supplier Leadership
Develop and execute a global strategy for strategic partners supporting both the in-house diagnostics product portfolio and reference lab equipment needs.
Build strong strategic relationships with critical strategic partners to ensure business continuity, innovation alignment, and competitive advantage.
Lead supplier segmentation and risk assessments to inform sourcing priorities and governance frameworks.
Lead the evolution of supplier relationships to more strategic, mutually beneficial partnerships models that deliver long-term sustainable growth for both parties.
Business Partnership & Liaison
Serve as the primary business liaison between internal stakeholders (R&D, Global Operations, Commercial, Quality, Legal and Regulatory) and our strategic supplier and technology partners.
Translate business needs into supplier strategies, ensuring alignment with product roadmaps, capacity planning, and market expansion goals.
Partner with Finance and Legal to structure strategic agreements, commercial terms, and governance models that support sustainable growth.
Supplier Performance & Governance
Establish clear performance metrics (e.g., quality, on-time delivery, cost competitiveness, innovation pipeline) and drive continuous improvement with suppliers.
Lead regular supplier business reviews and escalation forums to address operational issues, quality concerns, or strategic misalignment.
Collaborate closely with Quality and Regulatory teams to maintain compliance with veterinary diagnostic standards and market regulations.
Partner with commercial and operations to improve demand forecasting accuracy and ensure suppliers have appropriate visibility into pipeline and volume expectations.
Drive improvements in inventory efficiency, including reduction of excess and obsolete inventory tied to supplier agreements and forecasting misalignment.
Innovation & Lifecycle Management
Identify opportunities to leverage OEM partnerships for product innovation, technology upgrades, and portfolio expansion.
Support lifecycle management planning, including new product introductions, product transitions, and end-of-life strategies, through supplier collaboration.
Monitor emerging technologies and supplier capabilities to proactively inform internal R&D and commercial strategy.
Co-develop joint innovation roadmaps with strategic partners to align R&D priorities and accelerate time to market.
Strategic Planning & Joint Value Creation
Develop and lead joint business plans with key strategic partners focused on shared growth, innovation, and market expansion.
Identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimization, and differentiated customer offerings through partnerships.
Track and deliver measurable value creation from supplier partnerships.
EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Engineering, or a related field.
MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
8+ years of experience in supplier partnerships, strategic sourcing, supplier management, ideally within medical devices, diagnostics, or related regulated industries.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute partnership strategies that drive business growth, innovation and operational efficiency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in veterinary diagnostics, animal health, or human diagnostics industries.
Familiarity with in-house diagnostic product lifecycles and supplier innovation initiatives.
Experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives on a global scale.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Proven experience managing global supplier relationships with a focus on complex technical products.
Strong understanding of in-house diagnostics or laboratory equipment supply chains is highly desirable.
Excellent commercial negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work effectively across global, cross-functional teams and influence at multiple levels.
Proven experience in strategic sourcing or supplier management, ideally with complex technical products (e.g., medical devices, diagnostics, or lab equipment).
Solid understanding of strategic supplier business models, commercial agreements, and supplier relationship management.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with experience structuring complex agreements that balance cost, innovation, flexibility and long-term strategic value. Experience working with commercial and operations teams to align demand forecasting, capacity planning, and supplier commitments.
Demonstrated success in building and managing strategic supplier partnerships across multiple regions.
Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, serving as a bridge between suppliers and internal teams (R&D, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Finance).
Experience working in a global environment and with regulated industry standards.
Proficiency in core business systems and tools (e.g., ERP, procurement platforms, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to travel internationally as needed (20–30%).
