Construction Project Management Specialist
Job Description
Construction Project Management Specialist will plan, develop, and execute the construction of Retail Store builds, refurbishments, relocations, and temporary spaces. This role will ensure that every project is delivered on time, within budget, and scope, maintaining end-to-end project ownership from design to warranty.
Responsibilities
Manage all construction projects including new store concepts, conversions, relocations, upgrades, and repairs.
Review and ensure thorough evaluation of tenant criteria and construction portions of leases, communicating with internal and external business partners.
Apply a project management approach to all construction projects, establishing clear timeline objectives, deliverables, roles, and responsibilities.
Prepare construction estimates based on design development drawings.
Consult with Retail Operations and stakeholders to determine functional and spatial requirements, preparing design specifications and implementing local requirements.
Oversee all preconstruction activities, ensuring all permits, utilities, and necessary items are procured and available.
Manage the bid phase, reviewing and negotiating proposals, preparing bid analysis, and ensuring materials and resources align with budgetary guidelines.
Track and maintain project costs-to-date, approving invoices and updating the project accounting system.
Oversee the construction phase, managing costs, schedules, quality, and project completion.
Manage turnover activities to retail operations with on-site presence and support from contractors.
Identify and address issues promptly, devising contingency plans to keep the project on track.
Engage with HQ to ensure design integrity and drive efficiencies for cost savings.
Manage vendor performance, sourcing new vendors when necessary.
Maintain the construction database with legal documents and project closeout documents.
Research and input key materials and information into the Retail Development Tracker.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Planning, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience managing luxury construction projects, preferably in retail stores.
Strong project management skills with methodical follow-through to meet deadlines.
Fluency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required.
Excellent communication, organizational, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Experience using AutoCAD or relevant tools is a plus.
Willingness to travel up to 50% based on team and business needs.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $44.00/hr.
