Company: Mercury Research LLC Title: Quantitative Developer Job Site: New York, NY Duties: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software systems supporting internal research workflows. Build low-latency data processing tools and scalable infrastructure using modern C++ and Python. Develop APIs and backend services to manage large volumes of structured and unstructured data. Collaborate with research staff to implement tools for simulation, data analysis, and modeling. Ensure performance, reliability, and security of the systems through robust engineering practices including profiling, testing, and monitoring. Contribute to overall system architecture and continuous improvement of the technical research environment. Requirements: Master of Science degree in Advanced Computer Science, Computer Science or in a related field and two (2) years of experience as Software Engineer or in a related position. One (1) year of experience must include: Proficiency in modern C++; Linux, version control and software development best practices; building scalable data processing systems; WebSocket and REST APIs for real-time communication; knowledge of PostgreSQL or other databases; ability to write efficient, maintainable Python code; and familiarity with containerization and cloud-based deployment.
