Job Description

Function as a project manager responsible for delivery of the program roadmaps, budget, schedule and scope of Scholastic’s Product Data Engineering technology initiatives. Monitor and track the application development/business milestones, dependencies internal and external to the program, risks, resources on the program and budget. Initiate, review and coordinate the approval fore change management, operational processes, engineering best practices, and maturity of Agile delivery within the program teams. Effectively communicate with business stakeholders using business terminology as well as possess a technical background to enable comprehensive business-IT alignment. Work closely with stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and complete project milestones for assigned program and help to apply the SDLC of choice in a logical and reasonable manner communicating status and ensuring work is executed on time on budget and as defined. Develop implementation project plans that identify possible solutions, weigh pros and cons, and present optimal responses with mitigation action plans.

Does not have any direct reports or direct managerial duties. The role manages projects as outlined above.

Qualifications

Requirements

Main Education: Bachelor degree in Software Engineering, Software Development, Program Management or a related field of study.

Main Experience: Five (5) years of experience in a Software Development role such as technical lead, lead engineer, senior managerProgram or Project Management role such as scrum master, project manager, program manager or related occupation/role where required experience gained.

Alternate Requirement: In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in stated fields and five (5) years of stated experience, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in stated fields and two (2) years of stated experience.

Special Skills: Also requires two (2) years of experience in the following:

  • Enterprise technology environment customer-facing systems;

  • ERP and back office systems;

  • Cloud platforms and SaaS services;

  • Technology vendor evaluations, RFPs, and managing vendor relationships;

  • Executing in an Agile delivery technology organization; and

  • Lucidchart, IRA, and system documentation tools.
