  • Experience designing data-intensive systems (OLTP, OLAP, streaming, messaging).

6. Security, Compliance, and Reliability by Design

  • Deep understanding of security-first architecture , including identity, secrets management, data protection, and threat modeling.

  • Experience designing systems that meet enterprise compliance, privacy, and regulatory requirements without overengineering.

  • Strong focus on non-functional requirements : availability, performance, scalability, disaster recovery, and operability.

7. Engineering Leadership & Influence

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence , not authority, across multiple teams.

  • Strong mentoring skills for senior engineers, tech leads, and emerging architects .

  • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to engineering, product, and executive stakeholders .

8. Strategic Thinking & Execution

  • Ability to think 3–5 years ahead while still enabling near-term delivery.

  • Experience driving incremental modernization of legacy systems without disrupting active product development.

  • Strong decision-making skills under ambiguity, with a bias toward practical, outcome-driven solutions .

9. Documentation & Communication Excellence

  • Ability to produce clear, concise, and durable architectural documentation (ADRs, diagrams, reference architectures).

  • Comfortable communicating architecture through visual models, narratives, and trade-off discussions .

  • Skilled at aligning multiple teams around a shared technical vision .
