Amazon PR Specialist , Worldwide Sustainability in New York, New York
Description
As the PR Specialist for Energy, you will develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies across multiple channels, managing both proactive and reactive media relations while collaborating with cross-functional teams to create compelling messaging that highlights Amazon's energy initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
Key job responsibilities
-Create robust internal and external Energy messaging for key stakeholders to leverage.
-Many our "always on" storytelling opportunities, leveraging our core programs to reinforce what Amazon does best.
-Support multi-channel campaigns across traditional and non-traditional press, digital, social, and owned channels, supported by compelling visuals and assets.
-Partner closely with business stakeholders to align communications strategies with business activities.
-Collaborate cross-functionally with Executive Communications, Field Comms, Operations Internal Comms, Industry Relations, Public Policy, Owned Social, and other teams to integrate messaging across company storytelling and amplify through third-party voices.
-Manage proactive and reactive media relations, including looking around corners to anticipate coverage and responding to media inquiries about data center impacts on the energy grid.
-Source inputs for external communication materials, including key messaging and deals, routing through internal channels to secure necessary approvals.
-Manage external PR agency on monitoring and reporting guidelines, coverage reports, and end-of campaign metrics.
-Support development of briefing documents for internal spokespeople at all levels for external-facing engagements.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in professional communications or public relations
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail and ability to adapt messaging for different audiences
Deep understanding of carbon-free energy
Exceptional ability to distill complex technical concepts into accessible, engaging stories that drive consumer interest
Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-moving environments with shifting priorities and tight deadlines

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
