Managing Director, Creative Communications - Social, Creator & Earned Practice
As a member of the Social, Creator & Earned team, you will collaborate closely with leaders and teams across Publicis Groupe - including Influential, Captiv8, MSL, BBH, Digitas and more - to create strategic, go-to-market solutions that harness the power of Publicis’ unique capabilities, accelerating growth for clients. You will report to and partner with the President of this new capability to design integrated offerings that meet the demands of today's audience-first marketplace, build centers of excellence driving innovation in social and creator marketing, and serve as a strategic partner to client leaders as they navigate the evolving media landscape.
The Managing Director, Creative Communications is a senior leader within Publicis Groupe responsible for shaping culturally resonant ideas, driving earned‑first thinking and elevating creative work through strategic communications expertise. This role sits at the intersection of creativity, media, culture, and reputation—partnering across Groupe agencies to ensure ideas are built for conversation, credibility, and impact. The leader will guide clients, teams, and creative partners in developing narratives that travel across culture, spark coverage, and strengthen brand relevance.
Responsibilities
Serve as a core creative partner from idea inception, ensuring concepts are built for cultural relevance and earned amplification.
Collaborate with creative leaders, strategists, and makers to pressure‑test ideas and bring forward audience and media intelligence.
Provide a clear POV on what’s newsworthy, talkable, and coverage‑worthy, ensuring earned potential is embedded from the start.
Provide senior media relations leadership with strong relationships across top‑tier, lifestyle, business, tech, entertainment, and culture outlets.
Identify compelling angles, narrative frames, and storylines that resonate with journalists and cultural tastemakers.
Monitor cultural trends, platform behaviors, and editorial cycles to inform creative development and opportunity spotting.
Build strategic communication plans that connect creative ideas to business objectives and earned outcomes.
Advise clients on reputational opportunities and risks, ensuring messaging and creative ladder up to overarching goals.
Translate cultural and audience intelligence into clear narratives, messaging, and story frameworks that increase coverage potential.
Partner seamlessly with creative, influence, social, production, and strategy teams across the Groupe.
Champion an earned‑first mindset and help teams understand what drives relevance and credibility in today’s media landscape.
Bridge creative ambition with practical earned potential to ensure work is both bold and viable.
Build trusted relationships with senior clients as a strategic counselor on communications and cultural engagement.
Confidently present earned strategies, POVs, and coverage opportunities to executive stakeholders.
Provide ongoing guidance on how cultural storytelling and earned‑first creativity can help clients thrive in a fast‑moving environment.
Qualifications
Extensive background in earned media, strategic communications, and cultural storytelling.
Strong relationships with top‑tier journalists and media decision‑makers across categories.
Proven ability to shape ideas that resonate in culture and drive earned impact.
Experience working within integrated, multidisciplinary environments.
Energized by creativity, brainstorming, and the intersection of earned strategy and creative craft.
A natural connector who can speak the language of creatives, journalists, strategists, and clients.
Highly strategic, collaborative, and focused on outcomes over outputs.
Passionate about storytelling and skilled at making ideas sticky, credible, and shareable.

Compensation Range: $275,000.00 - $350,000.00 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
