The New York Times Company Manager, Business and Product Communication in NEW YORK, New York

Create and implement a public relations strategy for The Athletic and Audio that raises the profile of the business strategy of The New York Times. Develop launch plans for product offerings that highlight our brand messages and the value of The New York Times essential subscription bundle (News, Cooking, Games, Wirecutter, The Athletic and Audio). Constantly evaluate new opportunities and new outlets to grow the audience for The Athletic and The Timess suite of audio journalism. Serve as an external communications contact and media spokesperson for The Athletic and Audio, responding to inquiries, writing press releases, blog posts and statements. Develop and implement a PR strategy for The Athletic and Audio, including collaborating with cross-functional teams to scale work via public relations moments, such as events, campaigns and channels to reach relevant audiences. Work within a crossfunctional rapid response team to monitor and manage new issues and emerging media moments for The Athletic and Audio, responding to press inquiries and preparing for issues before they happen. Identify and report on key metrics to gauge the success of PR efforts. Partner with leaders for The Athletic and Audio to help them to determine what they need to communicate with the outside world, give them advice, and support their efforts to champion our messages.Requirements: Bachelors degree or equivalent in Media, Communications or related field and 3 years of relevant work experience. Must have experience in/with: public relations communications management for a major media brand, organization and proven media relations experience engaging with outlets that cover sports and audio journalism (podcasts), including working with a wide range of broadcast and online media outlets that cover national and international sports. Ability to work remotely on a hybrid schedule with manager and HR approval. Salary range: $87,762 to $90,000 per year.
