JPMorgan Chase Lead Software Engineer - Middleware in New York, New York

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer Banking, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
5+ years of middleware software development experience
Deliver system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for production services
Develop software with advanced proficiency in at least one programming language
Implement automation and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices
Execute across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Apply agile engineering practices, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security-focused development
Demonstrate proficiency in a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile)
Apply in-depth knowledge of financial services and common enterprise IT systems
Deliver solutions using practical cloud-native engineering experience
Exposure to AWS with Terraform
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Server-side programming experience (Java; Java plus C/C#/Python acceptable)
Experience designing and developing high-throughput, low-latency solutions for mission-critical 24/7 applications
Spring experience (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Kafka)
Experience distributing technologies and frameworks (Kafka, Cassandra, Spark, Hadoop)
Experience writing performant SQL and stored procedures (Oracle/Sybase/SQL Server/CockroachDB)
Experience using messaging technologies (Kafka, WebSphere MQ/JMS, RabbitMQ)
Experience building for testability and implement test automation (JUnit/Mockito, Cucumber/Gherkin), and use Git for source control
