The Lead, Communications & Engagement is hands on, design and execution focused role responsible for creating Associate facing and employer brand/recruitment communications across social media, Viva Engage, internal newsletters, the Company intranet, and other platforms.
We're looking for a creative, trend savvy communicator and visual designer/creator who thrives in fast paced environments and loves bringing ideas from concept to execution. The Lead will serve as a communications generalist, building strong, trusted partnerships across the business to create engaging social media content and internal stories that energize employees, attract talent, and strengthen company culture.
In addition to social media, the Lead will be responsible for the weekly Buying Office newsletters, partner closely on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) communications, and develop longer form stories for the Company intranet.
The base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $110,000. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
What you will do and what you will learn...
- Manage employer brand corporate social media channels, working closely with Talent Acquisition. These include LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Facebook, Instagram, Viva Engage (internal), and future platforms as identified.
- Develop and maintain an editorial calendar. Host recurring cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment on content priorities and amplify Talent Acquisition and College Relations efforts internally and externally.
- Plan, design, and produce on-trend TikTok style content and full social campaigns, with a strong focus on Talent Acquisition, from concept through launch and performance tracking.
- Monitor channels for engagement and escalate issues as needed on a daily basis.
- Monitor performance metrics, analyze engagement trends, and use data-driven insights on a monthly basis to optimize content strategy and recommend improvements.
- Own the weekly Buying Office newsletters end to end, including content planning, writing, editing, stakeholder coordination, and distribution.
- Work includes translating business updates into clear, engaging content with a consistent editorial voice and cadence. It also includes developing longer form stories for the intranet and working in close partnership with the Dublin-based Communications team.
- Identify story opportunities in partnership with HR, CSR, Talent Acquisition, and other teams.
- Write short and long-form content, leveraging the internal editorial calendar to elevate key campaigns and local initiatives.
- Create compelling content and creative assets (e.g., signage, posters, flyers, campaign visuals) for social media, internal storytelling, and company-wide platforms, including writing, editing, and graphic design.Support development of communications materials for large-scale meetings, as needed.
- Serve as the communications partner for the CSR team, supporting internal and external promotion of CSR initiatives.
- Develop written, visual, and video content for CSR campaigns across internal and external channels.
- Provide hands on communications support to additional business partners as needs arise
- Ensure a consistent brand voice and adhere to AP Style and Ross/dd's brand standards across all communications.
- Use company-approved AI tools; track AI trends and recommend emerging, responsible, guideline-aligned tools that enhance content creation and streamline workflows.
What you need to be successful...
- BA/BS degree
- 5+ years of relevant communications experience with strong creative, business writing, storytelling, and project management skills. Employer brand / recruitment experience a plus.
- Highly self-motivated, resourceful, and enthusiastic with a customer-service mindset. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing corporate social media channels and online communities.
- Demonstrated creative and strategic thinking, including graphic design experience and the ability to develop engaging concepts that support business objectives.
- Proven track record of producing TikTok style trend based video content, from concept through publishing. Skilled in planning, scripting, and executing longer form video - e.g. leader messages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a portfolio of clear, compelling content for diverse audiences.
- Exercises sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion, especially when handling sensitive or confidential information.
- Comfort owning work end to end-prioritizing, executing, and refining content independently.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; able to build trust, work effectively across functions, and support team initiatives in a matrixed environment.
- Experience and comfortability using generative AI tools-such as Microsoft Copilot or similar platforms-to streamline workflows and enhance content creation.
- Proficiency with Windows 10, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Office 365, SharePoint Online, WordPress, InDesign, Illustrator, Canva, and Acoustic (for Associate messaging).
