Amazon Finance Manager, Sponsored Products and Brands Finance in New York, New York
Description
As a Finance Manager in the Sponsored Product finance organization, you will be a key member of the SPB Finance team. You will work side by side with product and finance leaders to develop business strategies, financial models and analytical insights that will drive important business decisions. As a finance partner for the SP business, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with product, engineering, and data science teams to solve complex problems, influence the long-term evolution of our products, and develop insights into various aspects of our business.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve as a finance partner for the SP product and engineering leaders on strategic initiatives, leading planning, business modeling, and financial analysis;
Design and develop performance metrics, institute reporting mechanisms, and implement processes to drive insights related to business performance for stakeholders; proactively identify performance issues and deep dive to investigate and uncover insights;
Facilitate financial and operational metrics review meetings with product and finance leaders and work with business to drive effective execution; Develop financial models for new business initiatives, experimentation, and special projects;
Collaborate with BIE and Data Engineering teams to continually improve and enhance existing reporting and mechanisms, implement AI based solutions and tools.
A day in the life
A day in the life of a Finance Manager can include - leading a WBR with product teams to analyze business performance and drive actionable insights, partner with product stakeholders to deep dive into anomalies leveraging complex data sets, and prepare a document to be review findings with senior product leaders. You will also collaborate with BIE and Data Engg. teams to design solutions that can automate metrics reporting and insights from all the weblabs and experiments that the product teams are running.

Sponsored Products (SP) Advertising is one of the largest and fast growing business segments within Amazon Advertising. The SPB Finance team partners with this business to provide data analytics and reporting, support product initiative launches and performance tracking, drive operational improvements, and deep dive into business performance to provide insights that can drive growth. Our work directly impacts how product teams make decisions, allocate resources, and measure success in a multi-billion dollar business environment. Basic Qualifications
5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
MBA, or CPA
Knowledge of SQL/ETL
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
