Oscar Management Corporation DBA Oscar Health seeks a Data Scientist I in New York, NY. Duties: Responsible for the creation, implementation, and maintenance of data pipelines. This includes ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of data flow with the support of a manager. Support upkeep and enhancement of our models. This involves regular model testing, validation, and refinement to ensure the models remain effective and up-to-date with the latest industry standards and practices. Develop advanced analytics and validation checks on data and statistical model outputs under the review of a manager at critical points. This includes identifying potential issues, anomalies, or inconsistencies in the data, and implementing corrective measures to ensure the integrity of our models and analyses. Collaborate closely with data leaders and business teams to enhance overall data processes. This involves understanding their needs and requirements, providing them with the necessary data support, and working together to develop strategies and solutions that improve our risk adjustment processes and outcomes. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Data Science, Biomedical Informatics, or related (or its equivalent) and one (1) year of experience in software engineering or related occupations. Requires one (1) year of experience with the following: Working with multiple data sources (any combination of SQL, Python, R, and SAS). Building data models with advanced analytics methods, including conducting in depth analysis, rather than simple descriptive analysis. Computer science concepts, including data structures, complexity theory, concurrency (async and/or threading), recursion, I/O, etc. Coding to production standards, with guidance. Creation, implementation, and maintenance of data pipelines. This includes ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of data flow. Technical contributions that improve the quality of the creation, and building fault-tolerant and scalable software systems. Developing advanced analytics and validation checks on data and statistical model outputs at critical points, under the review of a manager. This includes identifying potential issues, anomalies, or inconsistencies in the data, and implementing corrective measures to ensure the integrity of models and analyses. Working with data leaders and business teams to enhance overall data processes. This involves understanding their needs and requirements, providing the necessary data support and working together to develop strategies & solutions that improve our risk adjustment processes and outcomes. Proposing, experimenting, and iterating, a new technology or an arcane, ill-conceived data structure. Telecommuting is permitted.Medical/Vision, Dental, & Retirement benefits available. 40 hours/week, Wage Range: $130,000 - $172,000 per year.
