New York University Clinical Assistant Professor | Biostatistician in New York, New York

NYU College of Dentistry Center for Oral Health Policy & Management's Office of Data Management invites applications for a faculty position in biostatistics at the clinical assistant professor level. The individual will develop and lead an extramurally funded research program in the theory, methods, and/or applications of statistics in health-related fields. Additionally, the incumbent will develop collaborations with Translational Research Center, department of Molecular Pathobiology, department of Epidemiology & Health Promotion and/or clinician scientists and enhance these projects using innovative designs and methods. The faculty member will teach graduate level courses and advise master’s and doctoral students. This is an annually-renewing appointment.

Responsibilities include conducting research, teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, participating in university, college and departmental governance, and professional and public service. A majority of effort is expected to derive from collaborating on research projects and teaching courses.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $120K - $180K. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree

Experience in developing and implementing novel statistical methods, experience collaborating with health scientists, and a passion for teaching and mentoring. Evidence of teaching effectiveness and scholarly activity appropriate to rank. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary academic environment.
