Overview The Entry-Professional will gather necessary information for the Operating Areas and partner with them to develop, track and manage operational and financial plans. The Entry-Professional will perform analyses to help identify improved ways to manage costs and support forward-looking decision-making by operating areas.Responsibilities Core ResponsibilitiesAdheres to Corporate EEO policies and ensures behavior is consistent with corporate values relating to the treatment of peers, subordinates, superiors, customers and the public at large.Supports the budget development process to support the work plan.Enter budget information into the budget system. (i.e., Oracle ePBCS).Supports financial forecasting processes with analyses using relevant systems/tools and enters forecast information into the relevant system.Identifies and communicates variations from the organization plan to stakeholders.Prepares monthly management reports using relevant systems to obtain and vet necessary data and supports monthly variance analysis.Assist with the preparation and validation of the O&M forecast information provided to stakeholders.Assist with the support of weekly spend driver tracking through maintenance, analysis and communication of weekly data.Creates and executes value-added analyses to support customers in decision-making.Performs ongoing analysis of accrual submissions of all types, along with analysis of associated payments.Performs additional tasks when necessary to support the organization and the Company.Qualifications Required Education/ExperienceBachelor's Degree and a minimum of 1 year experience includes cumulative full-time work or equivalent internship/co-op experience. Six months of Con Edison co-op or internship qualifies.Relevant Work ExperienceUnderstanding of ConEds business (e.g., services provided, current events) and FP&A function (e.g., objective, role, deliverables), required.Advanced use of Microsoft Office, required.Understanding of basic accounting principles (e.g., income statement, balance sheet), required.Demonstrated critical thinking capabilities and proactive qualities, required.Demonstrated quantitative experience, preferred.Work experience with management reporting or budgeting tools such as Oracle or SAP, preferred.Licenses and CertificationsDriver's License RequiredPhysical DemandsSit or stand to answer a phone for the duration of the workdaySit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workdayAbility to stoop, bend, reach, and kneel throughout the workdayAdditional Physical DemandsThe selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
