Group Details
The Data Management team is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and lifecycle management of securities reference data across global markets. The team supports security onboarding, data validation, and ongoing maintenance of the firm’s security master and related data platforms to ensure high-quality data delivery to downstream systems and business stakeholders. Working closely with Technology, Product, Operations, and external data vendors, the group plays a key role in supporting daily data operations and continuous process improvements. Team members gain exposure to financial instruments, data platforms, and automation initiatives within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
The Data Management Associate supports the daily execution of securities to reference data processes and contributes to the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data delivered to downstream systems. The role focuses on hands-on data validation, maintenance, and issue of investigation across multiple data sources under established procedures. This role works closely with senior team members, Technology teams, and data vendors to support data quality, operational stability, and continuous improvement efforts. It is well suited for recent graduates or early-career professionals seeking to build foundational experience in financial data management, reference data, and data analysis.
Execute daily data management processes, validations, and controls to support accurate and timely data delivery.
Support security onboarding, reference data maintenance, and lifecycle updates using established procedures and guidelines.
Monitor and investigate data quality issues across multiple data sources, escalating issues and risks to senior team members as appropriate.
Perform data analysis, reconciliations, and basic root-cause investigations with guidance and oversight.
Assist with data integration activities, system changes, and process transitions by supporting testing, validation, and documentation updates.
Partner with internal and cross-functional teams to support data requirements and issue resolution.
Follow data governance standards, documentation, and operating procedures to reduce operational risk.
Support analytics, automation, and process improvement initiatives, including developing or maintaining basic scripts, queries, or tools where applicable.
Maintain accurate documentation and logs related to data updates, investigations, and process execution.
Participate in knowledge sharing, training, and cross-learning activities to build domain and technical expertise.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
0–3 years of experience in data management, reference data, financial operations, or related fields.
Basic understanding of fixed income securities; exposure to equity securities is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time-sensitive and repetitive workflows.
Willingness to learn financial instruments, data platforms, and technical tools.
Technical Skills
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and basic data analysis.
Working knowledge of SQL and/or Python, or strong interest in developing these skills.
Familiarity with data mapping, data modeling, and relational database concepts is a plus.
Preferred
Experience with data validation, reconciliation, or comparison of vendor data.
Exposure data integration, migration, or automation initiatives through coursework, internships, or prior roles.
Academic or practical experience in finance, data analytics, computer science, or related disciplines.

The current pay range for this role if performed in the city of New York is currently $75,000 to $100,000 per year, based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of pay offered will be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, market data, geographic location, and internal guidelines.
