Job Summary
Tatiana by Kwame Onwuachi is one of New York City’s most celebrated and creatively driven dining destinations. As the Assistant General Manager, you will help lead daily operations alongside the General Manager, ensuring exceptional hospitality, strong team accountability, and a standout beverage program. You’ll also play a key role in shaping a collaborative, inclusive, and growth‑oriented culture, supporting the professional development of the entire team and contributing to a restaurant that values storytelling, innovation, and guest connection.
This role is ideal for a dynamic operator with beverage leadership experience who enjoys developing teams, elevating bar programs, and influencing both service execution and creative direction. Key Responsibilities
Support daily operations with a focus on exceptional service, team accountability, and smooth coordination across departments
Lead and grow the bar team, including cocktail menu development, wine sales, and coaching on beverage execution
Partner with leadership to balance collaborative and developing management styles in a positive, supportive way
Interview, hire, train, schedule, and coach employees and managers
Participate in meetings, training programs, and ongoing development initiatives
Maintain food and beverage quality while managing cost controls
Oversee purchasing, vendor relationships, and inventory
Ensure all HACCP, health department, and sanitation standards are consistently met
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
Review operational procedures and identify opportunities to enhance service, performance, and safety
Build strong, professional relationships with guests, staff, clients, and cross-functional partners
Perform special projects and related duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
A driven, energetic, and accountable leader with a passion for beverage operations
Experience developing bar teams and contributing to cocktail or beverage menu creation
Comfort selling and educating on wine
Ability to balance and support both seasoned and developing leadership personalities
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to stay focused in a fast-paced setting
Confident, inclusive communication style with strong relationship‑building ability
Experience with cost controls, inventory, purchasing, and cash-handling processes
Understanding of food safety, HACCP, and compliance
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Five to seven years of experience in upscale dining or multi‑unit operations
Strong coaching, scheduling, and team development experience
ServSafe or Department of Health certification
