POSITION DETAILS
Hunter College is currently accepting applications for the position of ASAP Academic Program Coordinator. The ASAP program was created to support incoming transfer students through a comprehensive suite of academic, career, and financial services. As the program enters an exciting phase of expansion, we are seeking a detail-oriented and student-focused Academic Program Coordinator to support its continued growth and contribute to the successful implementation of its next stage.
This is a meaningful opportunity to play a key role in enhancing student success and engagement at the College. The ASAP Academic Program Coordinator will be an integral member of the ASAP team, providing essential administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth delivery of services to students. Reporting to the ASAP Director, the Academic Program Coordinator will manage day-to-day program operations, maintain accurate records, support event planning and logistics, and assist with student communications and outreach.
The ASAP Academic Program Coordinator performs comprehensive administrative duties to ensure productive ASAP college office functioning and support the program's expansion activities, including program operations, recruitment and communication. The ASAP Academic Program Coordinator will also serve as the ASAP point of contact with the Office of Financial Aid.
ASAP programs help students earn their college degree as quickly as possible, by removing the financial, academic, and personal obstacles that many students confront. Key ASAP program features include a consolidated block schedule, cohorts by major, required full-time study and comprehensive advisement and career development services. Financial incentives include tuition waivers for financial aid eligible students, yearly textbook vouchers, and monthly MetroCards for all students. Plans and executes recruitment events and communications including ASAP Info Sessions, orientation, etc.
Communicates with prospective students via email, phone, and social media to provide program information and respond to inquiries
Assists prospective students with the application process by providing guidance on required documents and deadlines.
Tracks and follows up on incomplete applications or missing information
Maintain accurate records of prospective student contacts and recruitment activities using spreadsheets or CRM systems
Assists in organizing orientation sessions for newly admitted students.
Prepares welcome materials and coordinate communication leading up to the start of the semester
Organizes office functions such as communications, meeting schedules, work plans, staff assignments, and distributing information
Collects data for, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
Updates office databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s); maintains department archives and collections
Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and invoice processing
Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department
Serves as resource person for students and faculty regarding program policies and procedures
May supervise office operations and/or monitor department budget
Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in administration of a public service, social service, education, counseling or mentoring program; work with educators and students
Commitment to promoting college access and success in post-secondary education;
Strong writing and communication skills;
Flexibility to work productively in a fast paced, time-sensitive, high volume and dynamic student-focused and customer responsive environment;
Strong presentation, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to work and interact effectively, collaboratively, and cooperatively with a diverse community of learners, students, faculty and staff ;
Detail orientation and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments, establish priorities and meet deadlines; and
Computer proficiency using standard office software programs/applications, including CUNYFirst database and Google Docs.

Collects and reviews syllabi to ensure compliance with standards
Serves as resource person for students and faculty regarding program policies and procedures

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary commensurate with education and experience $50,500 - $59,544.
