Insight Global AOG Travel Mechanic in New York, New York
Job Description
Day-to-Day:
Troubleshoot and repair aircraft discrepancies independently
Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft inspections
Conduct advanced diagnostics on wiring, electrical, hydraulic, and engine systems
Utilize electronic test equipment and digital manuals
Communicate findings and corrective actions with Maintenance Control
Complete all documentation per FAA and company standards
Coordinate parts, tooling, and work plans for the shift
Travel to AOG recovery sites for rapid issue resolution
Work alongside contract maintenance personnel
Support operational teams to ensure on-time aircraft departures

Skills and Requirements
Must Haves:
FAA A&P License
5-10 years of transport-category aircraft maintenance experience
Heavy, turnkey troubleshooting skills - can independently diagnose & fix complex issues
Boeing aircraft experience required (747, 777, 737)
Electrical & wiring repair experience; ability to interrogate aircraft systems
Engine troubleshooting experience (CFM/PW/GE Platforms)
Ability to read/interpret schematics, drawings, and technical orders
Valid passport - must be able to travel (about 40% of the job)
Strong communication and documentation skills Plusses:
AOG experience
Wide-body Boeing experience is preferred
Has completed Charlie Works training or formal engine training programs (CFM, PW, GE)
