This role is accountable for both technical strategy and execution, operating as a hands-on subject matter expert while providing structured execution leadership across multiple stakeholders in a regulated utility environment.The role will evaluate existing legacy telecommunications systems, identify service dependencies, and design a phased migration approach to transition services from TDM-based technologies (Channel Bank, POTS, 56K, T1) to modern Ethernet, MPLS, fiber, and wireless solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end execution of legacy telecom retirement efforts from discovery through decommissionPerform service inventory and dependency analysis, including demarcation and site constraintsDevelop migration phases, cutover plans, rollback strategies, and testing requirementsOwn or technically direct carrier engagement, including ordering, provisioning, turn-ups, and disconnectsCoordinate execution across carriers, contractors, internal SMEs, operations teams, and leadershipLead cutover events, providing real-time technical oversight (on-site or remote as required)Maintain execution tracking, risk management, and status reporting using Microsoft 365 toolsDrive formal service decommissioning and billing disconnects to ensure cost savings are realizedEnsure adherence to change management and regulatory standards common to utility environments
