Akima Operations Manager in New Orleans, Louisiana
Operations Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing security operations in alignment with federal standards, organizational policies, and mission objectives. This role requires strong operational leadership, deep knowledge of protective force requirements, and the ability to manage personnel and processes within a complex or fragmented organization. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in law enforcement, military, or security management, and is capable of operating in a high expectation, compliance driven environment.
position is contingent upon contract award.
Responsibilities
Provide direct supervision and leadership to security personnel in accordance with established policies, procedures, and federal regulations.
Oversee daily security operations, ensuring compliance with medical, physical, and training standards as outlined in 10 CFR Part 1046.
Support operational planning and coordinate activities aligned with current Design Basis Threat (DBT) requirements.
Ensure personnel maintain required readiness, training, and performance standards.
Manage staffing, scheduling, performance evaluations, and personnel development.
Prepare professional written reports, correspondence, and documentation as needed.
Engage in conflict resolution, issue escalation, and workforce management.
Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic operational environment.
Support communication and coordination across teams within a fragmented or multi site organizational structure.
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and administrative oversight, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
Collaborate with leadership to improve operational efficiency, resolve challenges, and support mission objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or a related discipline
(May be waived with extensive law enforcement, military, and/or security experience.)
Minimum of 10 years of supervisory or managerial experience in law enforcement, military, or security operations.
Must meet all medical and physical standards for the Security Police Officer I position under
10 CFR Appendix A to Subpart B of Part 1046, and all training requirements under
10 CFR Part 1046, Subpart B, Protective Force Personnel.
Professional written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Ability to multi-task, manage conflicting priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
Working knowledge of Operational Planning and the current Design Basis Threat.
Experience managing within a fragmented organization (multi-site, multi-shift, or complex struct.
