Where You Will Work
Our office is located in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans, Louisiana. Employees in New Orleans mostly follow a hybrid schedule where they are required to work in office, attend in-person meetings or training and may also collaborate virtually. Many great hotels, galleries, restaurants, and museums are a short walk from the office.
What You Will Do
Under limited supervision plan, organize, manage and execute designated engineering projects and programs, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost. Perform detailed engineering design tasks for assigned projects, including calculations, drawings and specifications maintaining accurate records of design work and revisions throughout the project life cycle. Develop and prepare technical documentation and reports to support design decisions and project requirements. Participate in project meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate engineering solutions into overall project plans. Conduct design reviews evaluate vendor proposals ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards and company requirements. Utilize engineering software and tools to model, simulate and analyze design components. Assist in resolving technical issues during construction and commissioning phases. Continuously improve design processes and contribute to knowledge sharing within the project office. Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
Bachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and seven (7) years of experience in engineering or related scientific field, including lead or supervisory experience, OR
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and five (5) years of experience in engineering or related scientific field, including lead or supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise with applicable industry standards and Mechanical and Piping engineering design criteria
Expertise developing Mechanical and Piping deliverables such as Piping and Instrument Diagrams (PIDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping Isometric and Orthographic drawings, Equipment Datasheets, Bills of Material (BOMs), and Engineering Work Packages (EWPs)
Proficiency developing and contributing to development of scoping documents, P6 schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and estimates
Expertise in Caesar analysis including ability to interpret results and develop design recommendations
Proficiency interfacing with database design software
Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering
Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions
Skilled in managing large/complex engineering projects
Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
Skilled in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employees
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Advanced degree and/or Professional Engineering (PE) Certification preferred
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $120,000 - $167,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance. Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration. Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company's plan and award agreements. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
