Process Quality Engineer in
New Kensington, Pennsylvania
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes and participate in the APQP process, developing control plans, inspection plans, as well as MRL (manufacturing readiness level) assessments, PPAP, FAIR, and FMEA/PFMEA activities.
- Provide hands-on manufacturing and quality engineering support for products and processes from development through high-volume production.
- Analyze data, evaluate and implement improvements to meet quality and schedule requirements.
- Work independently or in a team environment with customers, suppliers, and the manufacturing group to resolve issues using data-based root cause analysis with structured problem-solving methodologies; diligently applies clear corrective actions.
- Perform design reviews of drawings, procedures and engineering orders for completeness.
- Ensure products meet strict quality, safety, and reliability standards through testing, auditing, and process improvement.
- Contribute to collection and analysis of technical data in support of product performance.
- Support status meetings with program managers and customers.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the value streams, quality department, engineering, et. al.
- Be a strong resource for general quality improvement projects and development plans.
- Institute quality at the source by developing and implementing robust process controls, inspection plans, and control plans that build quality into manufacturing processes, driving high first pass yields and reducing non-conformances.
- Perform and participate in various types of audits (internal document, part, process, product, supplier, customer, and other).
- Mentor and train as needed.
- Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Co-lead Material Review Board (MRB) activities and root cause corrective actions (RCCA) for non-conformances.
- Support and actively participate in Lean transformation initiatives, including rapid improvement events, 5S implementation, development of standardized work, and continuous elimination of non-value-added activities (waste) to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
